What You’ll Learn

Each learning experience is built around real-life complexity, not neat labels. Together, we explore how layered conditions shape daily life and what inclusive, trauma-informed support really looks like.

1. Understanding Layered Needs
Discover how physical, sensory, cognitive, and mental health conditions interact, and how to move beyond single-diagnosis thinking.

2. Neurodiversity & Mental Health
Learn about overlaps between neurodivergence and mental health, including masking, burnout, and the importance of trust and safety.

3. Physical Disability & Sensory Loss
Gain confidence in supporting people with visible and invisible disabilities, sensory impairments, and fluctuating energy levels.

4. Tools & Strategies for Inclusive Practice
Explore practical ways to create change, from functional assessments and assistive technology to communication and environmental design.

"Shirley has been an incredible mentor in my journey to becoming a DSA Needs assessor. Her training was thorough, patient, and full of genuine care. She didn't just teach me the process, she helped me understand the heart of the role and how to support students with empathy and clarity."
